Friday 25th July saw the departure of the 1st member of Chasetown Scholarship Scheme to be snapped up by a professional Football League Club.
Young left winger Lee Wright (17) has signed a 2 year contract, including the option of a 3rd year for Coca Cola League Two side Wycombe Wanderers, there was plenty of interest to sign the exceptionally talented youngster, including a Coca Cola Championship side.
Andy Turner, Scholarship Scheme Manager , added “This is a superb opportunity for Lee to continue his footballing development. I know Wycombe have high hopes for Lee and Richard Dobson, Head of Youth at Wycombe will undoubtedly ensure Lee’s continued success. It’s fantastic to see Lee progress as he has had a very fruitful time since he has been here, but he’s the 1st to climb the footballing ladder from the Scholarship, and with interest being shown from other clubs in various Scholars there is a big season beckoning for them as the Chasetown First Team and Reserves will benefit from the lads’ footballing abilities”.
